After a fairly decent opening weekend, JugJugg Jeeyo [2022] saw a drop of over 50 % in its first Monday collection. The film made around Rs4.5-4.75 crore nett on its first Monday, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
The Dharma Productions film had a fair opening weekend collection of around Rs37 crore nett. Sunday collection had seen a good jump with the film bagging close to Rs15 crore nett. The Monday collection sees the family entertainer reach close to Rs40 crore nett in its box office collection thus far. Though not a bad figure but if the rumoured estimated budget of the film is Rs100 crore plus, then the producers would have wished for better collection, especially with its over 3300 screens in India alone.
The Raj Mehta directorial pales in comparison with his last film Good Newwz [2019] that was also produced by Dharma Productions. Good Newwz [2019] had bagged Rs64 crore nett in its opening weekend and made Rs196 crore nett in domestic business alone. However, that film had released few months before the pandemic.
Reportedly, JugJugg Jeeyo [2022] has been generating fair numbers in the overseas market, the producer would still hope for better numbers over the week in desi business. With no major Hindi release lined up for the next two weeks, Dharma Productions will hope that JugJugg Jeeyo cashes in on this run. This Friday though the film could face some competition from Hollywood cartoon film Minions: The Rise of Gru [2022].
