Get set for a Dhak Dhak ride in 2023. No, we are not referring to any remake of Madhuri Dixit, Anuradha Paudwal, Udit Narayan’s popular song from Beta [1992]. Dhak Dhak is the title of a road trip film that is being produced by Taapsee Pannu’s Outsider Films. The actor had launched her production house Outsider Films, last year with the promise of giving break to fresh talent from across all crafts.
Dhak Dhak is co-produced by Outsider Films and BLM Pictures, with the film being distributed by Viacom18 Studios. The film is helmed by Tarun Dudeja, who directs his first feature. On the looks of it, the film appears to be a feminist road trip saga where four women undertake a long bike ride to the highest motorable pass in the world. The lead cast comprises of Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanjana Sanghi, Ratna Pathak Shah and Dia Mirza. The film is currently under production and will be released next year.
“At Outsiders Films we aim to produce films that are meaningful and entertaining. We have attempted to give audiences a visual experience that they have rarely seen on screen. Dhak Dhak narrates the story of four women who realise that freedom has to be owned and never given,” Pannu said in a statement.
Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom18 Studios says, “Dhak Dhak is a heart-warming story of four women undertaking a trip breaking out of their cocoons and discovering themselves through this journey of introspection and adventure. This was the perfect script and resonates well with the DNA of our storytelling.”
