Bombay High Court to hear Rhea Chakraborty’s bail plea on 29 September

The main accused in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case will continue to remain in judicial custody after the Bombay High Court adjourns the hearing into her bail application

There is no relief for Rhea Chakraborty as the Bombay High Court adjourned the hearing into her bail application till 29 September. The Jalebi [2018] actress will continue to be in judicial custody.

Chakraborty and her lawyer Satish Maneshinde had moved the Bombay High Court after a special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Court had on Tuesday [22 Sepember] dismissed her bail plea and extended her remand till 6 October. Reportedly, in her bail application in the Bombay High Court, Chakraborty has stated that her late boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput befriended people and wanted them to get drugs for him. Chakraborty is also said to have denied naming any Bollywood star in her statement to Narcotics Control Bureau.

Chakraborty, her brother Showik and four others have been charged under various section of the NDPS Act, 1985. Rajput’s father K.K. Singh has accused Chakraborty her family of cheating and abetting his son’s suspected suicide.
