There is no relief for main accused Rhea Chakraborty as a special Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Court in Mumbai rejected her bail plea on Tuesday [22 September] and extended her judicial custody till 6 October, as reported by ANI.
Chakraborty’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde will be moving Bombay High Court on 23 September to seek bail for Rhea and her brother Showik.
“Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty have filed bail applications in the NDPS case before the Bombay High Court. It will come up for hearing on 23rd September. Details of the applications will be shared after the hearing: Satish Maneshinde, lawyer for the siblings,” tweeted ANI.
Chakraborty, her brother Showik and four others have been charged under various sections of the NDPS Act, 1985 for alleged drug procurement and peddling. Chakraborty is also the main accused in the suspected suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput.
