As NCB suspects Rhea Chakraborty of procuring drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput, Taapsee Pannu raises a controversial but perhaps a practical question. Pannu’s tweet though is perhaps aimed at certain aggressive media houses who perhaps are not very objective in their reporting

From the time the drug angle emerged in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, it’s come as a surprise that certain Bollywood celebrities have commented on the matter, but have gone against the public opinion. Their words have been taken as a sign of support for the main accused Rhea Chakraborty. Certain celebs have drawn flak for whipping up misogyny in the way Chakraborty has been treated by certain news media and social media trolls. Taapsee Pannu has been among the celebrities who has copped criticism for her perceived pro-Rhea views.
Her latest comment is likely to incense the family and fans of the late Sushant Singh Rajput. Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau earlier today with the agency getting a 14-day judicial custody of the Jalebi actress. The NCB’s statement to the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at Esplanade seeking judicial custody mentions about Chakraborty allegedly procuring drugs for Rajput, but not consuming herself.
While commenting on an NDTV report, Pannu raised the question whether Sushant Singh Rajput would have been accused of drug consumption and arrested if he was alive today.
“Correction. She wasn’t consuming. Financing and procuring for Sushant. So in that case if he was alive he would’ve been put behind bars too ? Oh no. She must’ve forced the drugs onto him. Sushant must’ve been force fed marijuana. Yes that’s what it is exactly. We did it guys,” tweeted Pannu.
While her comments won’t be taken kindly by the family of Sushant Singh Rajput or his fans, but perhaps her comment was to mock certain overzealous media houses who are battering Chakraborty day in and day out in their not-so-objective reportage.
