Was Sushant Singh Rajput killed? Well, that theory has taken a back seat as the drug angle has emerged in the case. From being accused of abetting Rajput’s suspected suicide, Chakraborty has the bigger headache with the Narcotics Control Bureau now probing the drug angle and her alleged role. After blaming nepotism as a probable cause of the Dil Bechara’s [2020] actor’s death, Kangana Ranaut, too, has shifted her focus to the rumoured drug culture in Bollywood. In an explosive Tweet, Ranaut has urged the likes of Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, director Ayan Mukerji to undergo blood test to bust the rumours around them. Well, it’s Ranaut who first talked about this issue.
“I request Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Ayan Mukerji, Vicky Kaushik [Kaushal] to give their blood samples for drug test, there are rumours that they are cocaine addicts, I want them to bust these rumours, these young men can inspire millions if they present clean samples,” tweeted Ranaut.
Ranaut tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi into her tweet.
The Narcotics Control Bureau has joined the Sushant Singh Rajput case to probe the drug angle. Bollywood is no stranger to drug culture. Seasoned actor Sanjay Dutt had his troubles with drug abuse, which was even documented in his biopic Sanju [2018]. Veteran actor Raj Babbar’s son Prateik, too, has opened up about his battle with drug abuse. A year and half ago, Vicky Kaushal had courted controversy after he was pictured near to a white powder-like substance on the table at a party at Karan Johar’s place. Any drug use was denied by Johar and co. with the image being put down to a reflection of the light.
Many years ago, actor Fardeen Khan was caught possessing few grams of drugs. Incredibly, he had given a bizarre explanation then that the drugs helped him pull off martial arts moves.
