All along she is said to be a lone warrior, at least in the eyes of her diehard fans, but Kangana Ranaut has found support from an unlikely corner. Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, whose daughter has been slammed by Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel for being a product of nepotism, has not only lent his weight behind Ranaut but has also hit out at legacy studio owner Karan Johar.

Speaking to Republic TV head honcho, Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, Sinha was asked about the the ‘lobby’ that is trying to dislodge Ranaut, The veteran actor replied, “Most of the people I see, they speak against Kangana because from the inside they are very jealous of Kangana that without our mercy, without our will, without joining our groups or without any blessings from us, this girl has gone too far and achieved so much without any push of ours. They are irritated and jealous of her success and bravery,”

There were others excerpts from the interview that was released as part of their promotional clip where the veteran actor, without naming anyone, appeared to be questioning the credentials of Karan Johar. The veteran actor took a dig at shows like Koffee With Karan which he believed encouraged nepotism.

“There was no Koffee With Arjun in our times. We didn’t have any such planned events [shows] in our time. It is through such shows that many controversies emerge. I’d like to say that they are all part our society but the film industry doesn’t belong to anyone per se. It’s no property of someone. You can’t decide who stays, who doesn’t. Who are you? How did you come yourself? What have you done in life?,” said Sinha.

Further taking dig at so-called lobbies studios and backing Kangana, Sinha said, “They say Kangana is wrong. This is condemnable and shameful. If you can’t encourage someone, then please don’t condemn anyone like that or indulge into any character assassination. You try to ruin her life . Who are you? She didn’t take your support.”

The explosive interview with air on the Republic World at 2.00 pm today [25 July].
