With the easing up of the lockdown, there has been an upsurge in the Covid-19 cases throughout the nation. A few days ago, veteran actress Rekha’s bungalow was sealed and declared ‘containment area’ by the BMC [Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation] when one of her security guards and two staff members tested positive for the novel Coronavirus. It has been reported that Rekha, who is currently under home-quarantine, will be undergoing an independent test and submit the results to the BMC soon.
On Tuesday [14 July], Rekha’s neighbour and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar’s house was sealed by the BMC when a banner was spotted outside the Gully Boy [2019] director’s house. The notice read, “This area has been declared as ‘containment area’ as a resident is found positive in Corona Virus test.” A similar poster was found outside Rekha’s house as well. Both the actress and the filmmaker reside in Mumbai’s Bandstand area of Bandra locality.
Although Zoya’s bungalow has been sealed for precautionary measures with pictures doing rounds on the internet, no far official statement has been given by Akhtar.
