It’s been a month since actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra, Mumbai apartment on 14 June. So far it is widely believed to be a case of suicide. Various people have been questioned in connection with the Dil Bechara [2020] actor’s death. Dharma Productions head honcho Karan Johar and super star Salman Khan have copped heavy criticism on social media, with aggrieved fans [of Rajput] and many netizens holding few Bollywood bigwigs responsible for Rajput’s death. In a major news, and perhaps relief to Khan, the Mumbai police hasn’t found anything against the Dabangg 3 [2019] actor yet that requires him to be summoned.

Confirming the same, DCP Abhishek Trimukhe, who is leading the investigation, told Beyond Bollywood, “As of now we haven’t issued any summons [to Salman Khan] . What we do or not do will be decided as per the further investigation. But as of now we haven’t found any role [into Rajput’s death] of him [Salman Khan].”

While he didn’t make it clear, but Trimukhe hinted that as of now the police haven’t felt the need to question Khan, but hasn’t ruled out anything in future. Trimukhe iterated that any further summons will be issued as per the investigation.

We asked Trimukhe whether Karan Johar or any officials from Dharma Production have been summoned, the DCP replied, “No, as of now we haven’t issued any summons to them”. When pressed whether their investigation so far has led to any need to question Johar or any Dharma official, Trimukhe said, “No I will not be able to comment on that.”

A couple of days ago Reshma Shetty, Salman Khan’s former manager’s had recorded her statement.

Meanwhile, Johar had drawn flak on social media. Though nothing confirmed, citing sources various media outlets had reported that Rajput had a falling out with Johar over the latter’s decision to release their film Drive [2019] on Netflix without keeping the actor in the loop. As per the rumours, Johar then allegedly bad mouthed against Rajput to other producers. Actor-turned-controversial self-styled critic Kamaal Rashid Khan had alleged in a Tweet that producers like Salman Khan, Adtiya Chopra, Dinesh Vijan had all banned Rajput.

Yash Raj Films has come under scanner. As alleged by struggling filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap, the marquee production house had tried to sabotage Rajput’s career by favouring Ranveer Singh over projects that were first offered to Rajput. Like Ranveer Singh, Rajput, too had an exclusive contract with YRF Talent. YRF casting director Shanoo Sharma and other officials from YRF have recorded their statement before. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who was initially keen to cast Rajput in his film Ram-Leela [2013], director Shekhar Kapur have already been questioned.
