“I’m numb today, I still cannot accept the loss of a brilliant co-actor Irrfan. I really am at a loss for words. It’s very heart wrenching for me to say Rest In Peace Irrfan. I really hope things were better between our countries and I could go see his family but my heartfelt condolences to his family. ” Qamar told BeyondBollywood via a text message.

The world is currently battling the Coronavirus pandemic that has led to global lockdown. Strained Indo-Pak politcal ties has also led to severing of cultural ties between India and Pakistan since 2016.

The global lockdown led to Khan having a private funeral that was only attended by close family members and a few friends. Khan was laid to rest at around 3 pm today at Versova Kabrasthan in Mumbai.

Earlier today, Hollywood filmmaker Colin Trevorrow, who helmed the blockbuster Jurassic World [2015], recalled a touching message by Khan.

“Deeply sad to have lost #IrrfanKhan. A thoughtful man who found beauty in the world around him, even in pain. In our last correspondence, he asked me to remember “the wonderful aspects of our existence” in the darkest of days. Here he is, laughing. ” tweeted Trevorrow.
