Amitabh Bachchan to Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor to Akshay Kumar, industry mourns the loss of the much loved actor

The film industry suffered a terrible blow when internationally acclaimed actor Irrfan Khan passed away in Mumbai due to a colon infection. Khan was 53. As news of Khan’s death broke out, the industry was left in mourning, calling his death a tragic blow to the film industry.
Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, who has worked with Khan in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku [2015], paid glowing tribute to Khan,
“Just getting news of the passing of Irfaan Khan .. this is a most disturbing and sad news .. Folded hands. An incredible talent .. a gracious colleague .. a prolific contributor to the World of Cinema .. left us too soon .. creating a huge vacuum .. Prayers and duas.” tweeted Bachchan.
Piku [2015] director Shoojit Sircar had this to say, “My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irrfan Khan salute”
Super star Akshay Kumar too expressed his condolences to the family.
“Such terrible news…saddened to hear about the demise of #IrrfanKhan, one of the finest actors of our time. May God give strength to his family in this difficult time,” tweeted Kumar.
Shahid Kapoor, who had worked with Khan in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider [2014], tweeted, “It’s so sad to hear about #IrfanKhan passing away. I have learned so much from him as an actor just by sharing screen space with him. A truly gifted actor. And a wonderful man. He really has #GoneTooSoon I’m sure the heavens have saved a special place for him.”
Global star Priyanka Chopra, who had collborated with Khan in a few films, recalled Khan as a charismatic man.
“The charisma you brought to everything you did was pure magic. Your talent forged the way for so many in so many avenues.. You inspired so many of us. #IrrfanKhan you will truly be missed. Condolences to the family,” tweeted Chopra.
“Really sad and shocking to know Abt @irrfankuncle. He was a gem of a person. We lost a beautiful soul and industry has lost a powerhouse of talent. I was lucky to share screen with u in #HindiMedium #ripirrfankhan uncle. Condolences to family,” tweeted child artiste Dishita Sehgal, who played Irrfan’s daughter in Hindi Medium [2017].
Randeep Hooda had this to say, “Gone too soon is the inspiration and the entertainment #IrrfanKhan a great loss to cinema and the craft .. may you rest in peace brother ,”
Producer, filmmaker Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films post a heartfelt tribute to Khan.
“We are thankful for experiencing Irrfan’s resilience and spirit. We’re thankful for being allowed to witness his love and passion for everything around him. So yes, all I can say is thank you to him for letting us be a part of his journey. There is no one like Irrfan and I’m going to miss him very much. Rest in peace my friend.
I know that he could spread his wings and soar only because he had his wife Sutupa as his rock. My heartfelt condolences to her and his sons. We are always there for them and I know that they know this.” Vijan said in a statement.
Hollywood filmmaker Colin Trevorrow, who helmed Jurassic World, recalled an touching message by Khan.
“Deeply sad to have lost #IrrfanKhan. A thoughtful man who found beauty in the world around him, even in pain. In our last correspondence, he asked me to remember “the wonderful aspects of our existence” in the darkest of days. Here he is, laughing. ” tweeted Trevorrow.
